As construction continues on the Nice/Middleton Bridge (301 bridge), the Maryland Transportation Authority asks boaters to remember that the area around the construction vessels is a no-wake zone. Workers, working from platforms, are extended up to 175ft in the air on manlifts. When a boat blasts by at speed, it’s wake causes these guys to get thrashed violently. The wake of a boat could actually cause these guys to get thrown off their lifts and likely get killed.
So the quick and easy ask is that you slow down to no-wake speed and steer clear of construction vessels while they are doing their thing!
