Each year the owners of Holiday Island (Mark Richards, James Sejd, and Terry Hill of Hampton’s Landing Marina) put on one hell of a party for the boaters in the area. This is probably one of the most asked about events every year, and this year is no exception! We are here to help, so to that end, here’s your skinny on this year’s Island Party 2024!
This year the party will be held on July 27, starting at 11:30AM with a DJ to help get you all worked up. After that, Junk Food will take the stage and play until around 3PM, when the Road Ducks take over and play until 5PM-ish! We spoke with Josh Hill (Potomac Marine) a few minute ago, who gave us some important information about the raft-up party this year:
- The best place to raft-up will be the northeastern side of the island. The bands will be facing that direction.
- Do not swim to the island. There’s too much going on there, and it’s a security problem. Stay on your boats, jet skis, kayaks, or whatever.
- For your safety, red buoys will be placed around the island. Don’t cross those buoys unless you really want to jack up your boat.
This event is incredibly popular, and never disappoints. Bring your water-hoopty out for one of the biggest raft-ups on the Potomac! Get there early, because this raft-up party fills up fast!
For those who aren’t familiar, Holiday Island is located in the middle of Occoquan Bay, between High Point and Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge (coordinates 38.620786, -77.226395). It’s kinda small, so you will probably want to zoom out of this map to get a better idea of where to go.
