End of an Era – Tim’s Rivershore to Close

After 28 years serving the food and drinks we’ve all loved from his Dumfries location, Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant and Crabhouse is scheduled to close in April. After surviving all these years, and even through the COVID crisis, the Potomac Shores developer SunCal surprised everyone by declining to renew the lease for the restaurant at 1510 Cherry Hill Dr.

I’m dumbfounded, and very upset for all our employees who work here. We’ve always had the greatest customers, and we look forward to serving you all from our other locations on the river.

With it’s indoor dining room, massive outdoor deck, and famous tiki bar, Tim’s Rivershore has been a tradition on the Potomac River for decades. Having hosted such events as the Annual Polar Plunge, the Potomac River Boat Poker Run, Roar at the Shore, Waterstock, Pirates on the Potomac, and “Not on the 4th” Fireworks, Tim’s Rivershore has been a way of life for just about everyone along the river.

It ain’t over yet!

Tim’s Rivershore will still be open on Saturdays and Sundays during the 4 weekends of March, but March 28th will be the final day. Don’t let this opportunity pass you up. Jump in your car or boat and head on over there starting March 6 to soak in all the fun atmosphere, food, and drinks of one of the greatest riverside restaurants the Potomac River has ever known! Don’t forget to grab some t-shirts too!

We look forward to spending these last weekends at Tim’s, and then visiting his other locations this season:

See you on the river!

Update: It looks like the boaters are putting up a fight to keep Tim’s open. Check it out here:
