So far, it’s been a tough winter for boats on the Potomac River. This is the second boat fire that we are aware of – this time on Aquia Creek off the middle Potomac River. Details are scarce at this time, but we are told it was a Silverton 44 that caught fire, and was originally called into Stafford County Fire and Rescue at 9:50PM on Sunday, January 26.
It is reported that no other boats were involved or damaged in the blaze, which is a huge relief, but we can’t help feeling heart broken for the owner of the vessel that burned. It’s always hard to see these things happen, but we will certainly update you as we know more, as this is still a developing story.
