One of the biggest raft-up parties on the Potomac is back and bigger than ever. Belmont-a-Palooza is scheduled for Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Belmont Bay, right at the mouth of the Occoquan River. This rain-or-shine, music-filled, overnight raft-up has become a true legend on the river, drawing hundreds of boats and boaters for two days of serious fun.
If you’ve never been to a Belmont-a-Palooza before, Amanda Clairmonte told us, “Be prepared to spend the night. Bring good energy and have fun. Bring 2 anchors, lines and fenders to raft up to other boats.” There will likely be a lot of people enjoying “boat sodas” all day, so if you are thinking of bringing kids, parental discretion could be advised.
When asked why she keeps coming back, Amanda said, “It’s a great event, and I’ve been attending since the beginning, back in 2013! You meet so many great people and boaters at the raft-up. This event brings everyone together at the beginning of the year, and can set the mood for the season. It’s amazing because there could be like 10 or more different parties and atmospheres going on at the same time.”
Getting there is pretty easy. The party cove is just at the mouth of the Occoquan River where it meets the Potomac. Basically, just look for the massive raft-up of boats and you’re there! There’s also a map below, in case that’s confusing. This is one of the premier early-summer events on the river and a fantastic way to connect with the local boating community. Mark your calendar, get your raft-up gear ready, and we’ll see you out there for Belmont-a-Palooza 2026!
