Boating Season is Coming? Right?

Considering this winter has been one of the more miserable ones in recent memory, it’s hard to consider that it will be over soon. Featuring such tragedies as sinking boats, fires, and even raw sewage pumping into the river, so far the butcher’s bill has been pretty high this time around. As the thaws come, expect even more poorly-winterized sunken water-hoopties!

That being said, even this evil wicked vicious winter has to come to an end at some point (right?!?!), and we are already seeing signs of life. This week the date for the yearly massive raft-up party Belmont-a-Palooza was announced as June 20, so mark your calendars for something to look forward to. We expect to see other announcements of annual events coming soon, like the Island Party, Blessing of the Fleet, Poker Run, and others. There’s also a number of new events coming, like a car/boat/motorcycle shows, and other fun stuff to spend the day doing.

So don’t slit your wrists yet, even though the urge might be powerful. Yes, another snow storm is looming, and more single-digit temperatures are expected this week, but even if you believe in that rodent up north’s predictions, the season is still only 6 weeks away. So crack open that bottle of bourbon, sit back and endure these last thrashings of what was one gnarly winter, and look to the future of warm weather soon-ish!
