One of the first major party raft-ups happens around this time every year – the infamous Belmont-a-Palooza! This year it will be held in the same place, in Belmont Bay right at the mouth of the Occoquan River spills into the Potomac on the June 22-23 weekend. If you’ve never been to one of these parties before, you don’t want to miss out. As you might be able to tell from the picture, things get pretty crazy!
If you’ve never been to a B-a-P raft-up party, there’s some things you need to know:
- Be prepared to raft up by bringing plenty of lines and fenders
- The party isn’t necessarily for kids, so you might want to hire a sitter or hit up your family
- Be prepared to party your face off 🙂
Getting there is easy, because Belmont Bay is right off the Potomac River, close to Leesylvania State Park. Just head into the Occoquan River channel, and look to your right! You can view the event page HERE too!
